Drew is one of the first attorneys in Colorado to represent cannabis industry clients. His clientele ranges from large-scale, vertically integrated companies to small businesses and individuals participating in the cannabis industry as cultivators, retailers, product manufacturers, owners, landlords, financiers, and employees. Drew is well-versed in state and local licensing frameworks for cannabis across the United States. He has assisted clients in submitting countless license applications in Colorado and obtaining highly sought-after cannabis licenses through competitive application processes in limited-license states.
Drew also helps his clients comply with the requirements of their licenses and with all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, undertaking a thorough risk management assessment and developing business strategies related to those laws, regulations, and policies. He engages with lawmakers and government agencies and departments on behalf of his clients to strengthen relationships and communication and participates in legislative and rule-making processes on behalf of his industry stakeholders. Drew’s work is invaluable for clients seeking entry and growth in the cannabis industry. Drew also assists clients with obtaining liquor licenses and ongoing compliance with the terms of those licenses.

Relevant Work Experience
Prior to establishing his private law practice in 2009, Drew clerked in the Office of General Counsel for the United States Forest Service, where he dealt with real property issues, environmental protection, and employment law. He also clerked at CH2M-Hill OMI, where he gained corporate operations, federal contracting, and government procurement experience. In addition, he has experience managing and owning businesses in the entertainment and restaurant industries.
