Nick’s practice focuses on construction, insurance coverage, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation.
Construction
Nick represents individuals and construction industry clients in all phases of the construction process. He helps his clients draft and negotiate construction contracts, works with them through the claim and project administration process, and represents them in state and federal courts and in arbitration forums. Nick has successfully handled mechanic’s liens and bond claims and litigated construction disputes of all kinds, including those involving multi-million-dollar construction projects and residential construction defect actions under Colorado’s Construction Defect Action Reform Act (CDARA).
Insurance
Nick represents individuals and businesses in a large variety of insurance matters. He provides risk and coverage analysis and helps his clients navigate the insurance claims process. Nick is well-versed in CGL, homeowners, automobile, and umbrella policies. He also represents clients in state and federal courts in complex and multi-party lawsuits concerning bad faith breach of insurance contract, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, insurance coverage, subrogation, and residential and commercial real estate. He has won insurance bad faith jury trials and obtained favorable outcomes and verdicts for his clients.
Personal Injury
Nick represents individuals and national corporations with personal injury disputes in both state and federal courts in cases involving serious bodily injury and death caused by vehicular, workplace, animal, and private accidents and related insurance coverage disputes. He has successfully resolved numerous cases on behalf of his clients, including a dog bite case in excess of one million dollars.
Medical Malpractice
Nick represents patients and their families in medical malpractice cases arising from negligent care by physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. His practice includes claims involving misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis, surgical errors, improper treatment, and other breaches of the standard of care. Nick works closely with leading medical experts to develop strong, evidence-based cases on behalf of his clients.

Nick grew up in the Detroit area before moving to Chicago and then Boulder. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, snowboarding, hiking, biking, golfing, competing in Iron Man races, travelling internationally, and cheering on the Detroit Lions and Michigan State sports teams.
