Overview
Sally’s practice primarily focuses on construction law, but she also maintains a robust equine law and complex commercial litigation practice.
Construction Law
Sally represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in all aspects of construction law. She works on large, sophisticated, multi-million dollar public and private commercial, industrial, and heavy civil construction projects. She has experience in the expanding renewable energy and high-speed fiber optic markets. On the front end of projects, Sally negotiates and drafts design-build agreements, EPC contracts, master services agreements, and subcontracts. She is well-versed in contractual risk shifting, risk mitigation, and insurance law. During projects, Sally assists clients with structuring change orders and claim requests. At the end of projects, she helps her clients file and defend mechanics’ liens. She also represents clients in litigation and arbitration and has tried a wide range of construction claims, including breach of contract, change order, delay, disruption, indemnity, insurance, and loss of productivity claims. Sally has recovered multi-million-dollar judgments for her clients, including $12M in damages in a recent delay and disruption case.
Equine Law
Sally has a deeply ingrained love of horses. She assists clients in all aspects of the equine industry on matters including the following: business formation, management, and operation; drafting buy/sell agreements, leases, liability releases, and other types of contracts; land acquisition; and permitting. Sally also represents her equine-industry clients in mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
Litigation + Arbitration
Sally represents business clients in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and mediations. She routinely serves as a lead trial attorney, taking the case from intake through evidentiary development, motions practice, mediation, litigation, judgment, and collection. She has managed cases with extensive discovery and ESI. In addition to construction and equine litigation, Sally handles breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, estates and trusts, fraud, insurance, product liability, trade secrets, and unfair business practices claims.
