Overview
Construction Law
Shane represents clients in all segments of the construction industry, including design-builders, general contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, owner/developers, and suppliers. He negotiates, drafts, and reviews construction contracts, including various AIA agreements, subcontracts, supply agreements, purchase orders, master services agreements, and other types of construction and development-related projects. Shane also represents clients in state and federal court and in arbitration forums, litigating construction claims, including breach of contract, breach of warranty, construction defects, schedule impacts, delay, disruption, acceleration, labor productivity, sequencing, inefficiency, differing site conditions, defective specifications, design errors and omissions, change orders, and payment claims.
General Civil Litigation
Shane represents plaintiffs and defendants through all phases of litigation, including informal settlement negotiations, mediation, discovery, motions practice, trial, and appeal. He has represented individuals and businesses of all sizes across industries such as real estate, construction, finance, natural resources, and insurance in matters concerning breach of contract, unjust enrichment, fraud, easements, adverse possession, delay, reformation, liens, and statutory claims.

J.D., University of Colorado Law School
During law school, he represented clients in divorce, immigration, and social security disability proceedings through CU’s civil practice clinic and drafted research memoranda for national environmental advocacy organizations through the school’s environmental clinic. Shane also argued mock appellate cases as a member of CU’s national moot court team and as a finalist in the school’s Rothgerber moot court competition.

Out + About
Outside of the office, you will find Shane spending time with his wife and son, often on a camping trip in the mountains. His other hobbies include golfing, reading fiction, and cooking for his family.
