All Firm HappeningsAfter a four-day jury trial, the BHGR insurance coverage trial team led by George Berg and Nicholas DeBruyne obtained a favorable monetary recovery and complete plaintiff’s verdict for BHGR’s client, J Nold Midyette. Mr. Midyette filed claims for breach of insurance contract, common law bad faith breach of insurance contract, and statutory bad faith against his former insurance company after he was unlawfully denied insurance coverage under a comprehensive automobile insurance policy. The jury awarded Mr. Midyette not only actual damages for the disputed covered insurance benefit but also non-economic damages, treble damages, and attorneys’ fees. The verdict comes after less than a year of litigation.
