At BHGR, our committees are more than an organizational structure; they are an expression of who we are. Made up of attorneys and staff from across the firm, our committees drive the initiatives, values, and community commitments that define BHGR’s culture. From supporting our team’s well-being to deepening our roots in the communities we serve, each committee plays a meaningful role in making BHGR a place where great people do great work. Learn more about each of our committees below.

Associates Committee

BHGR’s Associates Committee serves as a dedicated resource and voice for the firm’s associate attorneys. The committee fosters professional development, mentorship, and connection,  helping associates build the skills, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive at every stage of their careers. The committee creates opportunities for associates and firm leadership to collaborate openly and honestly, helping shape a workplace where talented attorneys want to grow, contribute, and build lasting careers.

By pairing attorneys and staff with experienced mentors, the committee helps BHGR team members navigate their careers, develop their strengths, and find their footing in an ever-evolving legal landscape. Whether you are just starting out or looking to take the next step, BHGR’s mentorship program ensures that no one has to figure it out alone.

Sustainability Committee

At BHGR, we have a vested interest in the future of our planet. We looked to our partners, team members, community leaders, and experts in climate change reform and developed and adopted what we call, “BHGR 2030.” BHGR 2030 encompasses the firm’s short and long-term sustainability initiatives designed to reduce our environmental footprint, educate our team and the communities we serve, and inspire meaningful change from the ground up. Our Sustainability Committee is tasked with overseeing, managing, and implementing BHGR 2030. In addition, the Sustainability Committee reports to the firm’s Management Committee and annually to BHGR’s Partners on the status of our current environmental initiatives and future opportunities to effect change, both within and outside the firm.

Women’s Leadership Committee

According to the National Association for Law Placement, only 27.76% of U.S. law firm partners are women. (See NALP, Report on Diversity 2023 at 1). BHGR’s Women’s Leadership Committee seeks to tell a different story for women in law and business.

The Women’s Leadership Committee (WLC) is tasked with:

  • advancing the recruitment, retention, and promotion of female attorneys at every level within the firm;
  • fostering a safe and supportive work environment that recognizes the unique challenges female attorneys face;
  • expanding professional opportunities for BHGR’s female attorneys through client contact, referrals, mentoring, focused marketing, and networking; and
  • supporting a healthy, well-rounded work-life balance for its female attorneys.

As part of this effort, the WLC also seeks to support other female executives, entrepreneurs, and community members through educational programs and speaking engagements.
